Hi all! I’ve been thinking about how hard it can be to want to change the world and yet feel like nothing is really changing. Maybe its in not knowing what to do, or not knowing how to move forward with your dream of making the world a better place.  Or maybe you are feeling all alone and like no one cares how much work and effort you are putting into a project.

I know I’ve been there. And many days I still am.

Thats why I thought we could all use a little inspiration.

Need Inspiration

God has given each of us a dream and a purpose that will ultimately make a difference.  The trouble is figuring out what that purpose is and how to go about fulfilling it.

The first step is to write out what you are passionate about. What topic or activity really gets you going?  Or what is it about the world that drives you crazy or makes you sad or even angry?

For me, its seeing and knowing the vast poverty that is all over the world. The United States is rich in water, food, and materials. Things that we take for granted everyday, and yet there are people starving, drinking dirty water, and getting sick with preventable diseases. How is that possible?

The next step is brainstorming the perfect solution. If the world was perfect (which obviously, we wouldn’t have these problems if that were the case), what would it look like?

Hmm. . .a world without poverty. No child going hungry. Clean, fresh water available for all. Healthy bodies with access to preventive and medical care. . .

Then what are some ways to get to that solution.  This is where the ideas are probably infinite.  If you were to get a huge group of people together to brainstorm ways to go from the problem to the solution, you’d never be able to write them all down.  Thats whats so great about humanity, every person is created uniquely, with different ways of thinking which leads to different ideas.

Give money to the poor. Dig wells. Teach agriculture techniques. Provide mosquito nets. Teach sanitation. Create markets for impoverished people to sell their crafts.

Okay, so now’s the hard part. Putting those ideas into action. Pull out a few of the ideas that seem the most workable or doable and break them down further into specific actions.

Create markets for impoverished people to sell their crafts. Help them create sustainable livelihoods. Purchase their jewelry. Sell via festivals. Use social media to share their stories. Educate people about poverty.

Use the people around you and the internet for additional inspiration or critiques.

Then just do it. Get started, regardless of how little of step, just do it.  Because until you take that first step forward, those ideas or dreams aren’t gonna happen.

Every little action that we take, is just that much closer to success. To a dream coming true. To solving a problem. To making the world a better place.

Stay tuned. . . Next week, we will hit on inspiration needed when our actions don’t seem rewarding or our steps seem to be backtracking.
