Hong Kong is the largest city I have ever been to! I am amazed at how tall and compact the buildings and towers are. There are walking paths underground that we use to “cross” streets, there are skywalks all around. We travel by bus, by metro, and by ferry. Especially after living in the Philippines for a month, Hong Kong blows my mind!
Monday evening, after the race, the squad met up at a Starbucks in the mall. We then went to the boardwalk along the pier where we could see the skyline! It was beautiful. We proceeded to worship with songs of praise and prayer right there amidst locals and foreigners who had gathered to see the light show. This was one of my favorite experiences in Hong Kong, to have the freedom to worship my God openly in a beautiful foreign city that belongs to a country with thousands crying out to the same King of Kings. The rest of the week has consisted of worship, messages concerning healing and spiritual readiness to bring the Kingdom to the communities we reach out to, team debrief of our experience in the Philippines, and information regarding our next month of ministry. I am unable to share most of the “expectations” we now have for this month. This is due to protecting our contacts and especially their ministry. We will have absolutely no contact or communication with the U.S. while in this next country because of this need. But I can say that I am super excited for this next month and for the reliance and dependence we will have on God. We will be doing ATL’s (Ask the Lord) all month and will move between three communities. This includes a really long train ride! |
