November’s Box of Blessing had some fun included with the jewelry! Each box included a pair of Alpaca Silver Stone Earrings, a Mini Seed Bracelet, and 2 Hand Carved Safari Animals. Plus, because it was cold in Missouri, and I LOVE hot cocoa, I put a packet on top to help keep the recipient warm.
Every box has an information card packet inside and a quote on the back.
The Mini Seed Bracelet is handmade in Ecuador by artisans that work with Minga Imports. Minga was founded in 1997 to improve education and to increase public knowledge of fair trade. This bracelet is woven and adjustable, made with chocho platillo seeds from the Ecuadorian tropics.
The cute animals are hand carved out of muhugu wood by more than 100 individuals in Machakos, Kenya. These carvers use only rudimentary hand tools to create rhinos, zebras, giraffes, lions, and other safari animals.
Produced by Sanyork Fair Trade, the Alpaca Silver Stone Earrings are helping 66 artisans reduce and overcome poverty in & around Lima, Peru. Sanyork also works with families in villages in the Andes. Artisans are given confidence & inspiration to preserve cultural traditions & lifestyle. These earrings are made from native semi-precious stone with stainless steel dangles.
November’s Box of Blessings featured cause was a Earth Gift Basket through Heifer International. This gift included a hive of bees & tree seedlings. This will provide more efficient crop growth, prevent soil erosion, provide fodder for livestock, and extra income from the honey and wax. Giving a sustainable gift such as this, allows families to prosper long term and care for the environment!
