Finally, I have information about the Philippines and what our plans may look like!! Although most of my squad will leave and arrive on these dates, myself and two others will be following a day later. Praise God I am able to be in a close friends wedding before I leave which is the reason for the slight delay!
Sept 28 – Leave LA
Sept 29 – Arrive in Manila
Sept 30-Oct 3 – Launch Training in Manila
Oct 4 & 5 -Travel to team lodging/ministries
(We’ll be staying in a dorm/hostel type setting)
Oct 6-24 – Ministry time!
Oct. 25 – Squad meets to prep travel
Oct. 26 – Travel to Hong Kong
Oct. 27-31 -Debrief in Hong Kong
(My first thoughts reading this was ‘Hong Kong? Already! We haven’t even made it to the Philippians yet!’ The fact that we are traveling to a new country each month still blows my mind!!)
Our Ministry Plans
We will be helping out at Kids International Ministries in Mindinao, which includes a short flight from the main island!!! Our team, the Transformers, will be serving alongside Team Quake at this first location. Ministry will be with Mindinao Children’s home. You can check them out at www.kidsim.org. Other
teams will be serving in Manila with the same organization, the Philippine Christian
Foundation, and also working with families affected by the sex trade in the Philippines.
