We all dream, whether we try to or not.  Our dreams may excite us, scare us, encourage us, push us, and so much more. I’m not talking about the dreams we have at night, but the dreams that our minds will drift to throughout the day. Yes, those dreams that we wish were reality.

These dreams may include anything from owning a specific car, raising a family, or being rich. Then there is another type of dream, a dream that seems impossible, yet you can’t let go of it. A dream that could change the world if only you had the time, resources, and knowledge. If only everything was perfect. If only. . .

So, when is “if only”, not good enough?

What happens when that dream has escalated to a point that consumes your thoughts? When its so clear in your mind and yet so far away. When just dreaming isn’t good enough? Then what?

Thats where I am.

My dream has intensified to a point that I have to act. I have to move forward regardless of the fear that has overwhelmed me so far. But its scary. What if I fail? What if I don’t have what it takes? What if someone else could do it better? So many what ifs?

But if I don’t give it my all, if I don’t put my dreaming into action. It will fail!!

It’s not a matter of fearing failure, maybe its a matter of fearing success. Because as long we try, we will learn, we will grow, and we may even succeed. But if we don’t try, then we have no other choice but to fail.

So, What is my Dream?

My dream has been mulling around in my head for almost 5 years. I spoke of it briefly in “A Dream, A Passion, A Purpose”.God planted this dream while I was in Burkina Faso, Africa, and He continued to water it as I traveled the World serving His people. Then back in the United States, my dream took a back burner. I was engaged, married, employed at one of those “American Dream” jobs, had a wonderful baby girl, and began to learn the ins and outs of motherhood. But all that while, my dream of “International Blessings” continued to grow and become more defined.
Are you living your dream?
“International Blessings” is a ministry business devoted to creating markets for jewelry and crafts produced by individuals and families in poverty stricken communities. My end goal and big picture dream is owning a brick and mortar company filled with items from all over the world. Thats the basic dream, but there are so many more components that I’ve listed below:
  • To be able to pay higher prices for additional support for those poor families.
  • To create a gathering place for students. Are you living your dream?
  • To offer a cafe, ‘theater’, and other activities.
  • To have internationally themed events every month
  • To help fund youth mission trips

And the list of possibilities could go on forever!

This is my dream, and NOW is the time to pursue it with all my heart.

Are you living your dream? What is YOUR dream? What is God pushing you to do today? Please let my transparency of sharing my dream and the fears that go along with it, be your motivation to also act. Your dream may seem impossible. You may have even received criticism for that dream. But PLEASE do not give up before you even give your dream a chance. If we can come together with our dreams.  If we can help each other.  How much bigger could our dreams be?

I want to know what your dream is. And more than that, I would love to be a part of your dream. Please share in the comments below so that we can make our dreams a reality.
