Operation Christmas Child is a ministry of Samaritans Purse. OCC sends shoeboxes filled with school supplies, toys, hygiene, and other items to kids around the world. Most of these kids have NEVER received a Christmas gift.
Can you imagine your child not receiving a present at Christmas?
This Christmas OCC will have reached over 100 million children all over the world. Children that live in the midst of poverty. Kids that know what it feels like to go hungry. Kids who only have rags for clothes. Each shoebox also contains a book about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So, not only is each child finding fun and enjoyment within their shoebox, they are also finding hope, love, and even salvation. That is truly the reason for the season.
How can YOU be a part of changing a child’s life?
This is the second year my church has participated in collecting and putting together boxes. Together we are making a difference in over 100 children’s lives this Christmas. You can do the same. And even if it’s “too late” for your boxes to make it to children this year, go ahead and assemble a few. Samaritans Purse gathers boxes all year round in preparation for the coming Christmas.
